If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.Zig Ziglar
We all want to leave an impression, conquer the world but not everyone get to live their dreams. Why? Not because of any less talent or determination but only because of an unclear direction – missing goals.
- If you are a homemaker, you aim at running your show your way. Your way is your goal!
- If you are a professional, you want to grow (or keep doing whatever you already are) , reach a specific position. These are your goals!
- If you are a student, clearing exams, surviving a lecture, making friends etc. are your goals
How to know if you are working with a purpose?
Let me share with you a simple trick to know if you are aiming at something or not. So, the trick is basically asking yourself this question:
“What do you feel at the end of the day?” Choose any one option:
- Sense of accomplishment or,
If your answer is Option 1, i.e., sense of accomplishment, it means your goals are set, and you are moving in that direction only. How? Unless you do something good, you don’t feel accomplished – and you only feel good about something when you hit the target!
If your answer is Option 2, i.e., overwhelmed, it means you are missing the bull’s eye. How? When you start to feel that you are doing meaningless tasks all day, you feel tired, but the work is never-ending; it suggests a lack of direction.
So, where are you headed?
